Salza(Austria)

Salza – the valley of tha Salza river is also called the Grand Canyon of Stayerland:) Location: Austria, upper Stayerland, Alps

Season: from the beginning of May till the end of September.

Trip dates: all season, every day

Weather: a mixture of high altitude and continental weather

Levels: WW I-III, throghout 3 sections of the river, 45 km distance. Beginners, families and more experienced paddlers will all find the optimal level of difficulty

Route from Budapest: (450km, 4.5-5 hours:)Budapest – Hegyeshalom (border) - Wien – St. Pölten – Ybbs (exit from highway) – Scheibbs, Gaming, Göstling, Lassing - Palfau

Classic program: 2 paddling on Saturday and Sunday: 80 euro/person

Short program: 1 paddling on Saturday OR Sunday: 48 euro/person

Prices include: guiding, all equipment and special clothes (neopren suit and shoes, helmet, life jacket), transfer of the drivers, safety instructions. Our tour guides are highly qualified, experienced white water guides.

Local trip we recommend – we can provide you info on how to get there:
Hike alongside the Palfau waterfall: 2-2.5 hours easy hike on well built trail. Breath in the clear, humid air, take a cold shower under one of the small falls!
